F1 in Schools!
F1 in Schools is an international STEM competition, organized in Brazil by the collaboration of Formula 1 with FIA (International Motorsport Federation). The student project ranges ages from 11 to 19 years old and aims to improve skills in areas of knowledge both learned in the classroom and pursued for professional life. The F1 in Schools project is approximately 19 years old and started in England, but the initiative arrived in Brazil only in 2014.

THE COMPETITION
Teams of 3 to 6 students collaborate, design, analyze, manufacture, test and compete on cars made from blocks of F1 models using CAD/CAM design tools. The aim is to broaden perceptions of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, creating a learning environment for young people to develop an informed view of careers in engineering, entrepreneurship, science, marketing and technology.


IN BRAZIL
7 seasons ago, F1 in Schools started in Brazil. Since then, eleven teams have qualified to participate in the world championship, with the highest placing in the final stage being eighth.
Among these teams, two are from Criciúma, and one of them is Alpha, qualifying in fourth place in the national stage of the 2021 season.
The national stage of the tournament will take place in São Paulo, and will feature more than 60 teams competing to achieve the title of champion.
